Weezer was good; venue was not.
The bass player, however, was playing was excellent and his stage presence was enough to get by, but do something with his appearance. Thrown has almost always so many great hits to sing along with, they will put on a good show. The sound was not good, but we had up front SRO in the pit and were able to view the band clearly. The lead singer is the nerd, other guitar guy is the rocker, drummer is the clean cut tough guy but the bass player looks like walmart. If I did not already know the lyrics, I could not have heard them with the songs I had not heard before. I am a big live music lover, but the heat is Texas in the summer and you cannot get around that. The time between bands is the exact same problem that golf has right now; people just don't have that much time anymore. That added another 1.5 hour to the entire night, and will kill concerts in the next five years. I suppose the Pixies, with no stage presence at all, were the warm-up band to contrast the difference between a bad band and a good band like Thrown.
